The sign up process couldn’t be simpler. Just go to WordPress.com and click the Sign Up Now! button. Fill in the necessary information and be sure to select the ‘give me a blog’ option.

The username you choose will become part of the web address. It will look like this: username.wordpress.com, so you probably want to think a bit about choosing an appropriate username. The more relevant it is to your topic, the more people will find you via search engines like Google. [For TI Collective blogs, your address will be gangstalking.journal.com/blogs/username/ ]

Enter your Site title (you will be able to change this later), select your language, leave the Privacy box checked if you want your site to be listed in search engines (honestly, it will end up being listed either way, but leaving this box checked will speed inclusion), and click Signup.

You will need to check your email to activate your WordPress.com account. On this page you can enter any information about yourself that you wish to (first and last name are required). This too can be changed later.

Once you get your activation email, click the link in the email and you’re ready to go!

From now on you’ll be able to login to your account via the main WordPress.com page.
